Soil Mixing Committee

Dennis W. Boehm , Chairman

A Committee of industry wide professionals comprises this Committee involved in the support and understanding of Soil Mixing Technology.

Committee Notes
  • The interest level for soil mixing remains high among the engineering community in the US and Canada. Other countries of interest also include Mexico and South America. The recent awareness of levee deficiencies across the nation, and the performance grading/risk analysis performed by the COE, has earmarked several levee systems and embankments as potential candidates for upgrading by improving the insitu shear strength of the foundation soils. What better way to improve this material than by soil mixing? Port development is also another area of interest for the soil mixing process, as is seismic upgrading of embankments and earthen dams in areas of high seismic activity.
