DFI-CSCE Spring Workshop: Subsurface Explorations and Field Testing - Current Practice

The Deep Foundations Institute and the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers will hold their fifth annual spring geotechnical engineering workshop at the University of New Haven on Friday, April 10, 2015. David K. Crapps, Ph.D., P.E., will present a full-day workshop titled, "Subsurface Explorations and Field Testing Current Practice". Dr. Crapps has over 40 years of geotechnical engineering experience in testing and design. He previously served as founding owner of Schmertmann and Crapps, the firm responsible for geotechnical engineering on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Project, held a world record span at the time of its completion. Topics for the workshop include SPT Testing, Bored Piles (Drilled Shafts), Dilatometer Testing, and Insight to Solving Complex Problems. New York State PDHs will be approved and awarded at the discretion of the Practicing Institute of Engineers.
