Nine of DFI’s technical committees combined their industry expertise to organize SuperPile 2016. This three-day conference included presentations on the latest developments in Driven Piles, Augered Cast-in-Place/Drilled Displacement Piles, Micropiles, Marine Foundations, Testing and Evaluation of Foundation Systems, Seismic and Lateral Loads, Drilled Shafts, Ground Improvement and Helical Piles and Tiebacks. On June 7, DFI committees met to discuss progress on various committee projects. On June 8, there was a plenary (combined) session of presentations and on June 9 there was two parallel sessions providing attendees the option to choose presentations of interest. Invited and selected presentations will highlight advancements, innovations and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations, particularly related to piling solutions. Presentations local to the Chicago-metropolitan area, along with national, and international case histories, are encouraged. Panel discussions on current topics will provide attendees opportunities to share new ideas and industry experience. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors, engineers, and other vendors will present their services in our Exhibit Hall. for the first time, DFI will present its memorial Osterberg Lecture and the Ben C. Gerwick Award for Innovation in the Design and Construction of Marine Foundations during SuperPile16.
