Impact testing methods have been applied in civil engineering practice worldwide for centuries. Usage of these techniques continues to play a key role in assessing the potential behavior of geologic materials in situ for engineering purposes.
The DFI Testing and Evaluation Committee hosted a one-day workshop prior to SuperPile '19 addressing best practices in utilizing:
  • Standard Penetration Tests
  • Becker Hammer Tests
  • Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Tests
The workshop highlighted the optimal use and understanding of these tools to enhance quality of site investigation. Deep foundations and liquefaction assessment applications of these methods were emphasized.
