Simultaneous Loading Tests of Steel Piles by Dynamic and Static Methods

Three steel pipe piles with 400 mm diameter are driven into sand. Dynamic measurements are applied during driving and several testriking times. This paper presents comparisons of dynamic penetration resistances and static bearing capacities both at one week and a month after the first driving by using adjacent test piles. Also, the recovery of dynamic and static resistance of the pile has been checked. It is recognized that the set up of the pile capacity in the site was not so large and that the displacement of the piles during the static and dynamic tests are important in order to relate both the static capacity and the dynamic resistance.
