Full-scale failure tests on lateral loading cast-in-place concrete piles

In this study, in order to investigate the behavior of the ultimate lateral resistance on the cast-in-place concrete piles and the ground, the lateral loading failure tests are conducted on a single pile and box arrangement (3x3) of 9 piles, which are the full-scale piles, 1.2 m in diameter and 29 m in length, used for the temporary foundation on the highway bridge in reclaimed sandy ground. In this paper, the test results for the lateral load-lateral displacement curves on pile top, the strain distribution of pile group from the reinforcement gauges attached at the steel bar, and the ground deformation in front of the pile group as shown.
