Jean-Pierre Hamelin, Laurent Lavene, Jean-ghislain LaFonta
Ground movements induced by underground excavation are always of critical concern, particularly in urban areas. Compensation grouting now appears as a safe means to control these movement. The paper presents new advanced systems developed by the specialist contractor to bring, at all stages of the project, an efficient control of operations and presents a case history taken from the project at Tren Urbano, Rio Piedras Section, constructed beneath an historic commercial section of San Juan de Puerto Rico.
